Why should I register my stallion on FoalR?

FoalR is a sports stallion marketplace: it enables you, as a stallion owner, to give your stallion visibility by taking advantage of the platform's traffic, and to sell your covers online, in a simplified (online booking payment, automatic debiting of the balance, etc) and secure (legal framework, etc) way.


Can I register a stallion with no studbook on FoalR?

Yes, you can register a stallion with no studbook on FoalR. When registering your stallion on FoalR, you will have to enter his studbook of birth and the studbook(s) in which he is accepted for breeding, but in both cases, you can register "no studbook".


I own a stallion and have several distributors in different geographical areas. Is this a problem?

It's not a problem for a stallion to be distributed by different distributors. On the stallion's page, under the heading "Breeding conditions", each distributor appears with the breeding conditions and the geographical areas in which it distributes the stallion, enabling breeders to choose their distributor with all the information they need.

PAYMENTS

What is my seller account?

This is the account that enables you to collect payments for studs on FoalR, and then to have the sums due paid to you. To create it and fill it in, log in to your FoalR account, click on My account > My stallion space > My seller account. Then create your account by following the instructions that appear. Our PSP (Payment Service Provider) partner is Stripe.

What information do I need to create my seller account?

To create a seller account, you need to provide certain basic information, which differs depending on whether you are a professional or a private individual (see table below).

Depending on Stripe's control algorithms, you may subsequently be asked to provide other supporting documents, such as proof of identity and/or proof of registration of your company. Our PSP (Payment Service Provider) partner is Stripe. This is one of the largest approved payment intermediaries in the world. It enables payments on marketplaces to be made securely. It is for this reason that we ask you for some information, which Stripe uses to check that your identity has not been stolen.

Seller account

I am an agent and I would like the sums paid by the stud buyer to be collected directly by the owner of the stallion. Is this possible?

For the moment, no, that's not possible.

How do I collect the proceeds from my sales?

At the end of each month, the sums collected on FoalR for your stud sales are automatically transferred to your bank account (less FoalR service charges). For this to work, you must of course have created your seller account and filled in your bank details.

Does FoalR receive a commission on the sale of studs?

FoalR charges a service fee for every service sold. Depending on your status (owner or agent), FoalR receives a different percentage of the service fee. Rates are detailed here.

How will I receive payment for a covering sold with a 1/10 balance or a Live Foal balance?

When placing an order, the buyer reserving a covering with a 01/10 or live foal balance will be asked to create a Buyer account on FoalR: he/she will have to enter his/her IBAN allowing SEPA debit of the balance on 15 October or at the foal's birth. He will have to provide a certificate of vacuity or death of the foal for FoalR to cancel the debit of the balance.

Does FoalR manage the invoicing of my customers who have ordered their studs on the platform?

No, FoalR does not manage invoicing: it is up to you to manage invoicing with your customers.

INITIAL AND PREMIUM SUBSCRIPTIONS

How much does it cost to register stallions on FoalR as part of the Initial subscription?

Registering a stallion on FoalR en Initial is currently free of charge.

How much does it cost to register stallions on FoalR as part of the Premium subscription?

Registering a stallion on FoalR with the Premium subscription differs for stallion owners and agents. For details of the fees, click here.

What services does the Premium subscription include?

By choosing the Premium subscription, you will benefit from:

  • the possibility of selling your studs online
  • greater security in your transactions: no need to set aside cheques: in the event of a 1/10 balance or a live foal balance, the buyer will automatically be debited the amount of the balance (which will of course be cancelled in the event of vacancy or death of the foal).
  • a secure legal framework has been established with a lawyer specialising in the equine industry. You no longer need to have the buyer sign, scan and return the contract. The transaction is legally framed by our CGUV, the blank contract associated with the stallion (yours or FoalR's standard contract, depending on which you choose), as well as by the various elements of the buyer's order (if you have validated it): identity of the mare, stabling centre, rates, conditions, etc.
  • the option for your buyers to pay in 3 instalments via Klarna!
  • presentation of your stallion to the FoalR community via our newsletter
  • the opportunity to take part in FoalR trade events (and benefit from the associated communication)
  • communication on FoalR's social networks
  • promotion of your premium stallions with a specific sticker on FoalR
  • the appearance of your Premium stallions on the first pages of results on FoalR
  • increased visibility thanks to the FoalR community.

STUD ORDERS


Why should I order my studs on FoalR rather than elsewhere?

Choosing FoalR to order your studs means:

  • one of the widest choices of stallions in the world
  • less paperwork, everything is done online at FoalR
  • a secure transaction

  • the chance to take advantage of our start-of-season and end-of-season promotions

What methods of payment are accepted?

Payments on FoalR are managed by our PSP (Payment Service Provider) partner Stripe. Stripe supports the following credit cards:

  • China UnionPay (CUP)
  • Discover et Diners Club
  • eftpos Australia
  • Japan Credit Bureau (JCB)

Can I pay in several instalments without incurring any charges?

Yes, thanks to our partner Klarna, you can pay in 3 instalments free of charge (minimum amount 35 euros). Choose "Klarna" when making your payment.

Do I have to sign the breeding contract?

No, there is no paper breeding contract to sign. The stallion's acceptance of the order validates the transaction and leads to the conclusion of the breeding contract. This secure legal framework has been drawn up in conjunction with a lawyer specialising in the equine industry. You no longer need to sign, scan and return the contract to the stallion owner/agent. The transaction is legally framed by our GTCU, the blank contract associated with the chosen stallion (the stallion's contract or FoalR's standard contract, depending on the stallion's choice), and by various elements of your order (once it has been validated by the stallion): identity of the mare, stabling centre, rates, conditions, etc.

Does FoalR deliver the seed?

No, FoalR does not deliver the semen. In the case of transported semen, once your order has been validated by the stallion owner/agent, he will contact you via the FoalR messaging system or by phone (your phone number was given to him when the order was confirmed) to organise delivery of the semen to the centre.

How do I organise transport for my mare to the centre?

The date of arrival and the period of stay of the mare in the centre are decided after agreement between you and the stallion, according to the availability of the stallion and the capacity of the centre.

The arrival and departure of your mare from the centre are your responsibility and her transport is at your expense.

Puis-je contacter l’étalonnier et lui poser des questions ?

You can contact Premium stallions via the FoalR messaging system at the bottom of each stallion sheet and at the bottom of the distributor page.

Ma jument est vide. Que dois-je faire pour ne pas payer le solde ?

If the service you have ordered is for a "Balance 1/10", send a certificate of emptiness issued by your vet before 1/10 to FoalR (at the following address: contact@foalr.com) to cancel the direct debit.

If the stud you have ordered is for a "Live Foal Balance", send your vet's certificate of emptiness before the expected term of gestation to FoalR (contact@foalr.com) to cancel the direct debit.

Le poulain est décédé. Que dois-je faire pour ne pas payer le solde ?

If the stud you have ordered includes a "Live Foal Balance", you will be exempt from paying the balance if the foal dies within 48 hours of birth. Send FoalR a death certificate for your foal issued by your vet (to the following address: contact@foalr.com) to cancel the direct debit.
