Camiro was eighth in the 2013 Bunn Leisure Derby Trophy, had several wins in the Millstreet CSI3*, and was second in the Wettenhall grand prix. He also won both the puissance and six-bar competitions at the Dublin horse show with Paul O’shea and was second in the six bar the following year with David Blake, jumping up to 2.20m. Sire – Chellano Z left the breeding scene early, after his untimely death as an 11-year-old in 2006. He had already finished in the top ten as both a six- and seven-year-old at the World Breeding Championships in Lanaken, and was jumping international grand prix classes under Jos Lansink as an eight-year-old, with placings in Neumünster, Valkenswaard and Rotterdam. His clone, Chellano Alpha Z, is also in both breeding and sport, having jumped at the World Championships and in young horse classes. Despite Chellano’s limited breeding career, he has produced 30 licensed sons and more than 40 grand prix horses. His sire Contender was one of the most established producers and amongst his progeny are 127 licensed sons and more than 100 grand prix horses, with winnings so far of over €8.65 million. His offspring include Checkmate, Montender, Chiara 222, Cool And Easy, Con Air, and Carlo 273.
From a limited number of foals, Camiro’s best known offspring is Piggy French’s (March) fantastic Vanir Kamira, who finished second and fifth at Burghley in 2017 and 2018, among several other top ten placings at 3* level. Vanir Kamira will hopefully be going to the Olympics with Piggy (depending if it goes ahead this year due to Covid). He has also produced several other horses eventing at CCI2* and CCI3* level, including Creevagh Cooley and Creevagh Silver de Haar, as well as jumpers at 1.40m-1.50m level. He was ranked 31st on the 2017 WBFSH Sire Rankings for eventing, an impressive feat for a stallion with a limited number of progeny. Products include jumpers up to 1.50m and eventers up tp 48 level.
Roxborough Euphoria: in 3rd place 3* 1.45 classes, 1st places in the 2* 1.35 classes consistently with Anabelle shields
Creevagh Carisma: 1st place in the 1* CCI 1* Tatterstals for William Fox-Pitt and the Soapdodger as well as many other top placings.
Camiro was ranked #31 in 2017 WBFSH Sire Rankings. #16 with British Eventing, and is still within the World’s top 100 in 2020. He brings scope, trainabilty, blood, size and type to his offspring and is approved for breeeding with Zangershiede, Selle Francais and IHS.
