Versatility through Excellence!

Sauvage des Morins, approved PFS stallion, is available for your pony and horse broodmares, in frozen semen or hand breeding (under conditions) at the Morins stud farm, near Saintes (17).
Sauvage is a stallion with an exceptional character, kind and easy even for young children, yet talented.
Brought out at the age of 4 by a 10-year-old rider, he accumulated rankings, first in showjumping and eventing with a little dressage, then, thanks to his application and ease of use, he specialized in dressage up to Internationals and being selected for the French team for the European Championships.
Then, as his rider was no longer old enough to compete as a pony, a new pairing was formed with another 10-year-old girl, to compete first in showjumping and then in eventing, always with success.
3 years later, Sauvage returned to the stud and was ridden by our daughter for fun. He went on to compete in amateur showjumping up to 115 Grand Prix with good results, and at 144cm tall, he did well in contracts and wide horses.
He was also the partner of a very young rider for 2 months, and won all 4 pony events with his 8-year old accomplice!

I also need to talk about Sauvage's origins, because here too, we're dealing with the exceptional.
His sire, Durello, a German pony, is a recognized breed leader in his country, and for 10 years old was the best sire of showjumping ponies in Germany.
His dam, L'Odyssée du Sud (by Banagher Magee, ranked in the top 15 sires of showjumping ponies and European Championships), is one of the best breeders in the PFS, mentioning "Suprême Classe", and has herself competed very well (French showjumping pony performance index 139 and ISO 120 (French Showjumping pony performance index). Her offspring are indexed between 120 and 162, and her offspring between 124 and 139!

Physically, she has a short, stretched back, a beautiful shoulder, perfect leg conformation, a well-oriented shoulder and a low thigh.

Fertility: 87% of mares in foal in frozen semen (13/15), including 75% with fewer than 8 straws, and 100% in hand breeding (21/21).

Results: French showjumping pony performance index 122, French dressage pony performance index 135 and French dressage pony performance index 145, placing him in the very small group of stallions indexed at over 120 in the 3 Olympic disciplines.
BPO +14 (0.61) and BDR + 6 (0.42)

The plus: if your broodmare is bred for "horse", Sauvage des Morins offers you the possibility of registering the offspring in the New-forest de Croisement studbook, which will enable him to take part in the Cycles Classiques and receive premiums in the same way as if he were PFS ... and this, whatever the dam's breed!

His production

His offspring will start competing in 2024.

However, some are already making news: his daughter Nikam des Moulins is vice-champion of France dressage foals in 2023 with an average of over 80% and the best trotting score (9/10): and his son Manhattan des Morins gets the best foal scores at the local competition he took part in!

- 4 years old: "EXCELLENT" mention at the CCJP CSO national final.
- 5 years old: 6th best 5-year-old Dressage in France - French dressage pony performance index 130 and French showjumping pony performance index 114.
- 6 years old: French D1P Dressage Champion - best 6-year-old Dressage in France - 5th all ages combined - French dressage pony performance index 145 and French showjumping pony performance index 119.
- 7 years old: best 7-year-old Dressage in France - French dressage pony performance index 139. At the same time, in CCE, he won the As 2 at Laizé, was 2nd in the As 2 at Aubignan...
- 8 years old: RESERVISTE in the French Dressage Team for the European Championships!
- 9 years old: His rider reaching the age limit for pony events, Sauvage returns to showjumping with an 8-year-old rider and regularly ranks in Poney 1 and Poney Élite (100 cm) showjumping.
- 11 years old: in parallel with showjumping, he takes up eventing (CCE) again, and wins regularly - French showjumping pony performance index 118 and French eventing pony performance index 135.
- 13 and 14 years old: he changes rider again, and, for his last 2 years of competition, ranks up to 110 horses and obtains an identical index in showjumping - French showjumping pony performance index 122.
- 15 years old: following the pandemic, Sauvage finds his rider. He therefore retires from competition and enjoys his new life as a breeder surrounded by his ponies...
